Collage figurativo
Gli artisti utilizzano il collage da molto tempo. La tradizione moderna del collage, come la conosciamo oggi, è tuttavia spesso attribuita al artisti cubisti Pablo Picasso e < a href="https://www.artsper.com/it/artisti-contemporanei/francia/3242/georges-braque">Georges Braque. Agli inizi del 1900, questi artisti sperimentarono incollando ritagli di giornale e altri materiali sulle loro tele per creare connessioni sorprendenti tra elementi visivi. Le creazioni di collage dei cubisti hanno successivamente ispirato molti artisti moderni a sperimentare con questa tecnica, diventata rapidamente un elemento essenziale del mondo del arte moderna.
Oggi il collage è una forma d'arte estremamente varia. Artisti contemporanei di stili diversi producono collage per creare interesse visivo nelle loro composizioni. Per gli artisti figurativi, cioè coloro che rappresentano il mondo materiale visibile attraverso l'arte, il collage viene spesso utilizzato per aggiungere elementi inaspettati o astratti alle loro opere.
