Mara

Mara is a collagist artist working in a gallery as well as in an urban environment. As a child, he draws a lot, it is for him the most natural way to express his ideas.

In 2011, he created the character with the cross face which he still uses today to tell his stories. Representing everyone and nobody at the same time, this being is like a puppet that Mara stages in each of her works. Later, he discovered graffiti in Montpellier and began to adapt his character to a new medium: collage. He gradually invests the walls of the city, day and night.

The message being at the center of her work, Mara gives the character the role of megaphone. This one delivers with humor, cynicism and inventiveness the daily life of the artist, but also his vision of the world. With collage on a human scale, he appeals to the viewer's critical mind by tackling certain topical issues such as ecology or technology, but also more personal subjects such as human nature, love.
