Cultura pop Street-artistas
Aunque el arte callejero comenzó en la calle de forma modesta, poco a poco se ha convertido en un elemento clave del espacio público y del mercado del arte. Aunque en sus orígenes fue divisivo, desde entonces ha adquirido un cierto poder, incluso una responsabilidad: la de federar a los espectadores. En efecto, en cuanto el arte urbano asume los temas de la cultura popular, se vuelve accesible para todos. La cultura popular, o "cultura pop", reúne todas las referencias que son comunes, compartidas y familiares para una sociedad determinada. Es todo lo contrario de lo que se suele presentar como arte, a menudo complejo y elitista. El artista Efix, por ejemplo, incrusta a los Simpson en las calles francesas desviando elementos ya presentes, como las pipas, que se convierten en un saxofón para sus personajes. Para los artistas callejeros, los temas son múltiples y las referencias infinitas: desde los deportes hasta las estrellas de la canción pasando por los dibujos animados y los cómics. Desde finales de los 90 hasta hoy, el arte callejero nos informa sobre los héroes deportivos que los artistas callejeros veneran (como Jimmy C y su mural de Usain Bolt), pero también sobre los artistas a los que rinden homenaje (como Jisbar y su secuestro de la famosa Mona Lisa). Sin olvidar las marcas y los objetos que les fascinan (como en la obra de Onemizer) y, por supuesto, todo aquello que les produce nostalgia o les recuerda su juventud, como en la obra de Nacks.
