Artwork location: France
This artwork, created by Aristid Szendy, a renowned sculptor and jeweler born in 1936 and passed away in 2013, embodies a masterful synthesis of sophistication and simplicity. The central mirror is presented in the form of a perfect circle, revealing a series of concentric circles. The golden texture of the piece, carefully patinated, brings a depth that elegantly captures the light, creating sublime plays of shadow on the surface. The artist succeeds in merging the qualities of a jewel and a sculpture into a single work, demonstrating his mastery of materials and his keen sense of aesthetics. Every detail of this golden circle seems meticulously calculated to evoke both strength and delicacy, eternity and transience.
The light sliding over the golden curves reflects shades oscillating between antique bronze and radiant gold, accentuating its historical dimension and venerability. The central element, a mirror, adds an introspective dimension to the piece, inviting the viewer to see themselves and find themselves within the work, making the act of observation deeply personal and unique. This piece is not only an object of admiration but an invitation to reflection and contemplation.
The artwork stands out sharply against a minimalist background, highlighting its character and emphasizing Szendy's technical and artistic prowess. This creation is an ode to continuity, a celebration of pure form, and a tribute to timeless elegance.

Arisztid Szendy, born on May 16, 1936 in Hungary, came from a family of artists like his uncles who were painters and musicians.
He came to France in 1956, the day after the Hungarian revolution.
He began his studies in France at the Beaux Arts in Paris under the guidance of Giacometti, Zadkine and Adam. He learned the art of drawing, modeling and sculpture on different materials but was particularly attached to alloys such as brass and bronze.
He was commissioned to create a bas-relief at the Bank of Bilbao and at the Sand Museum in Port Barcares, took part in exhibitions at the Grand Palais, such as "Jeune sculpture", l'Art sacré, Réalités nouvelles de Paris, and went to settle in Beauce where he appreciated its large expanses of fields in varied colours.
After a passage in the abstract, he comes to the figurative using repoussé, according to boilermaking techniques.
His sculptures evoke women, amplify them, sometimes distort them... he draws a lot of inspiration from fertility.
Its creativity comes above all from internal communication, research...
Over the years, the artist began to make smaller sculptures until he turned to jewelry, which allowed him to participate in the large art studio and Bijhorca fairs twice a year.
