Presentation
Denis Miau is a visual artist born in 1951 in Pauillac, in the southwest of France. Attracted to painting at an early age, he continued his studies in Paris at the Lycée Claude Bernard, then at the Sorbonne, the École des Beaux-Arts and the Atelier de Montparnasse. In 1974 he settled permanently in Albi and held his first exhibition at the age of 27.
More than sixty personal exhibitions bear his name, in France and abroad, in galleries as well as in cultural centers and museums in Paris, Albi, Geneva, Nantes, Thonon-les-Bains, Toulouse, Castelsarrasin, Lacapelle-Marival, Saint-Emilion, Nagoya, Tokyo, Hiroshima, Lorient, Rennes, Antananarivo, Lacanau, Gaillac, Strasbourg.
Denis Miau has participated in numerous exhibitions and biennials:
Salon d'Automne et Indépendants Grand Palais de Paris – International Contemporary Art Prize of Monaco – Contemporary Art Biennale "Art Jonction International" of Nice – 26th World art festival of Okayama - Postal Museum of Paris – Museum of Art and Archaeology of Soulac - Museum of Fine Arts of Gaillac.
His works are exhibited in France and abroad and appear in numerous public and private collections:
