Red Highs, 420 royalty

Red Highs is a French artist, born in 1988 in Cergy-Pontoise. From an early age, he was fascinated by lines, shapes and colors. He regularly doodles frantically, like a gift. In his head everything is logically harmoniously disproportionate.

At school his artistic flair and his passion for art never left him, he always had his head in the air or was always immersed in his drawings. In college, her art teacher notices and understands that the only way to express yourself is to draw. She therefore decided to create a workshop within the establishment.

He is 12 years old and for the first time, a door opens to him and allows him to express his passion. This discreet teenager finds himself the spearhead of the workshop and begins to exhibit his first self-taught artistic attempts (drawings, paintings and graffiti) in the bus shelter, the walls of the playground and other various and varied media.

After studying commerce and marketing with a graphic design option, Red Highs therefore created its graphic studio in 2011: "S2C Infographie", a traditional graphic design company that works in particular for a few major brands in France, while continuing to practice paint.

From 2013 to 2018, he moved to Martinique. Very grateful for the progress made, he is nevertheless tired and dreams of more creativity. By dint of hard work and perseverance, he decided to step out of his comfort zone and embark on a whole new adventure, going from traditional graphic designer to illustrator.

Back in France, he definitely wants to break away from traditional graphics and give free rein to his creativity. He creates his current artist name: Red Highs and specializes in digital drawing.

Moreover, his nickname is not insignificant, "Eyes in the skies" is his slogan. He is a free spirit, always with his head in the air while keeping his objectives precise. His graphic universe revolves around urban and pop culture. He therefore collaborates with major brands and players in the hip hop industry and weaves his international network firmly and surely.

With his experience in this brand new field, he decided to tackle textiles and printed his creations on various clothes (t-shirts, sweatshirts and the famous "balaclava"). It is diversifying further, also opening up to animation, 3D creation, packaging, branding, etc.

But that's not what he really wants, he pulls the culmination of this hodgepodge out of his sleeve and throws himself body and soul into the major arts. Always absorbed by his main sources of inspiration, west coast culture, street art and masterpieces of painting, he distorts the classic and modernizes it with street art.

He works according to his mood and decides to show behind the scenes of Antiquity and integrates pop culture into historical paintings, revives the still life that everyone tends to freeze, updates the emblematic cartoons that rocked our adolescence and those of future generations, etc.

However, the graphic art pleases but this style is better suited to the medium that makes it look good. He therefore swapped his tablet for the classic support. Make way for paintings in oil and acrylic paint, on linen canvas. A challenge he passed with flying colors. He thanks his various stages and meetings throughout his career, which allow him today to offer this panel of creativity.

Red Highs, the limitless self-taught hooded artist is now listed in the "Dictionary of Listed Artists from the 15th century to today".
