Description
This captivating work features an expressive portrait done primarily in ink and pencil, characterized by a mastered doodling technique. The swirling, dynamic strokes create a rich, lively texture, making the face appear almost in motion. The black markings on the face, similar to tribal symbols or scars, add cultural depth and intriguing mystery. The subtle use of orange hues provides contrasting warmth and guides the eye to the ear adorned with a delicate earring. This detail, although subtle, balances the whole and adds a touch of refinement. The subject's gaze, both piercing and introspective, captures the attention and evokes a multitude of emotions. A perfectly executed fusion of abstraction and realism, the work invites reflection on identity and self-expression.
Presentation
Ayoka Zahir is a contemporary painter, born in 1982 in Laon. He developed an early passion for art, spending many hours drawing from a young age.
His emergence as an artist is relatively a second life for him. Indeed, after obtaining his secondary school diploma, he embarked on a long career in the banking sector, occupying positions of responsibility within the Trading Rooms of Ecobank, Société Générale and BNP.
His passion for art resurfaced during the Covid pandemic in 2020.
He started drawing again, then those close to him (especially his colleagues) pushed him to paint and graffiti. Almost like a revelation, this experience gives him the opportunity to explore his talent and perfect his skills. Through his natural curiosity, he began to develop different identities, which result in an eclectic artistic universe.
Each personality could be a different signature. Before starting to exhibit her work, Ayoka Zahir had already sold around fifty of her works. An absolute fan of Star Wars, the artist remained anonymous for a long time to his collectors. Indeed, Ayoka Zahir delivered her works with a Darth Vader mask.
Ayoka Zahir's work is characterized by its diversity and daring mastery
autodidact of color, texture and shape and materials.
