Description
This fascinating work depicts a man with a piercing gaze, reminiscent of a mythological figure. His wavy hair and beard, marked by shades of gray and blue, evoke the power of the oceans. His sculptural face, struck by a bright light, lends a majestic and timeless aura. The swirling background, composed of deep blues and touches of white, reinforces the impression of movement and marine mystery. The figure's imposing musculature adds to his divine and imposing appearance. This painting is distinguished by its harmonious color contrasts and vivid expression captured with remarkable precision, transporting the viewer to a world of myths and legends. Its visual strength lies in the perfect balance between realistic features and artistic interpretation, creating an undeniable emotional impact.
Presentation
Natali, whose full name is Nathalie Dervaux Pouliquen, is a French painter based in the south of France, whose pictorial universe explores the depth of human emotions through portraiture.
A passionate self-taught artist, she has developed a unique artistic style centered on light, skin, and the gaze. Her works, often created in oil, capture suspended moments where the sun is not shown, but felt — a visual signature that has become emblematic of her work.
Through expressive female portraits, sometimes monochrome, sometimes bathed in warm and vibrant colors, Natali seeks to reveal the invisible: a contained emotion, an inner strength, a memory. Her work plays on the contrasts between shadow and light, softness and intensity, realism and suggestion.
Blending aesthetics and humanitarian awareness, she inscribes her art in a desire for transmission, empathy and sharing.
Today, Natali is developing a strong artistic identity around coherent and symbolic collections, while exploring new decorative and narrative mediums. Her ambition is to create art that is sensitive, accessible, and meaningful, capable of reaching a wide audience.
"When light caresses the skin, emotion becomes eternal."
