Description
A quiet moment of solitude unfolds on a sun-drenched shore. This 2026 mixed media painting captures a woman in repose. She rests upon a striped towel. Her gaze drifts toward a vast horizon. The composition is stripped of noise. Only the essential elements remain. Gold sand meets a deep blue sky.
The artist brings a refined figurative approach to this everyday scene. There is a rhythmic balance between the organic curves of the body and the linear perspective of the beach. Soft light washes over the skin. Subtle shadows define the form. The application of paint is precise yet fluid.
This artwork reflects a deep interest in the human presence within natural environments. The figure is not merely a subject but an anchor for the landscape. A sense of stillness prevails. The colors are saturated and luminous. They evoke the warmth of a summer afternoon. Every brushstroke emphasizes a mood of contemplation. The scene concludes with the delicate rendering of the sand and the distant shift of the sea.

Ilia Balavadze is a Georgian artist born in 1968 who lives and works in Tbilisi, Georgia. From 1987 to 1993, he studied the painting at the Tbilisi State Academy of Art. Afterwards and for many years, he worked on painting the walls of many orthodox churches all around Georgia. The artist is very well distinguished by his style because you will find a lot of different and original details in his works.
Starting with the streets of a modern city, ending with natural landscapes in a particular place, you will find almost every type of environment with a distinguished fact that human being is always predominant in his works. The artist's works are collected in many private collections in Georgia, Russia, Ukraine and USA.
