Description
What if a familiar landscape were suddenly revealed to be nothing more than a thin veil hiding an infinite cosmos? In this painting, a peaceful natural landscape — green trees, mountains, water, and a wooden bridge — is unexpectedly torn open by a fantastical “window" into another reality. Within this unusual rift lies the vastness of outer space, filled with a glowing galaxy, distant stars, and the enormous planet Saturn with its rings, as if the Universe exists just beneath the surface of the familiar world.
The contrast between the vibrant earthly landscape and the cold, infinite expanse of space creates a sense of genuine wonder. The irregular edges of the cosmic opening resemble a tear in the fabric of reality, offering a glimpse into a place that cannot be reached by ordinary means. The path or bridge in the lower part of the composition seems to lead the viewer directly toward this boundary between two worlds.
The painting is part of the “Impossible Landscapes" series, in which real and recognizable places become points of encounter with fantastical phenomena. In these works, the familiar laws of nature are deliberately disrupted: outer space may appear in the middle of a forest, another world may be hidden behind an ordinary opening, and the impossible becomes a completely natural part of the landscape.
This painting is about curiosity, dreams, and the desire to discover what lies beyond the familiar. Sometimes, all it takes is turning off the usual path and looking a little closer — only to realize that another world has been right beside us all along.
Acrylic paints, textured relief, collage. The base is canvas stretched on a wooden frame
Presentation
Irina: "I am full-time artist. I find my happiness in doing art. Art is a part of my soul, my energy, my vision of the world. I consider myself a multi-faceted artist, I like to experiment with materials. I realized that I can create beauty not only with paints. I create three-dimensional artworks with volumetric elements. I work in two directions: mosaic paintings and wall sculpture art. I use decorative found objects, mosaic, plaster, wood, shells, crystals, gemstones, anything that can realize my ideas. My art is full of life and joy. The main theme is a Woman, her life, thoughts, feelings, relationships with people and the world".
