Description
Water becomes the central subject here. Shades of blue intertwine to translate the liquid movement. The gaze follows the ripples of the surface. A marked contrast establishes between the clarity of the reflected sky and the depth of the shadow areas.
The composition plays on perspective. The viewer overlooks the basin. In the bottom left, the beige and blue tiling anchors the scene in reality. The geometric lines of the tiles oppose the organic fluidity of the water.
The artist captures the precise moment of a disturbance. White splashes pierce the surface. These touches of paint suggest a jump or a play. The light strikes the crests of the waves with precision.
The acrylic technique allows for the achievement of sharp blocks of color. The rendering evokes the coolness of a sunny scene. The palette focuses on azure and cobalt tones. The whole rests on a balance between abstraction and figuration. Each stroke emphasizes the transparency of the aquatic medium.
The work is painted in acrylic and pigments on canvas previously primed with Gesso. It is signed in the front and in the back with a full signature.
