Description
Unique print in 40x30cm format from an analog photograph by Bze
Signed and numbered on the back 1/1 of 2007 on professional photo paper
This print comes from the book "OVERGROUND, déroutants voyageurs", 2006, Bze & Tomski, Paris, Editions Alternatives.
"Photos of the road, the street, the margin and its people"
This shot captures a moment of life in the heart of an alternative community. The scene opens on a campsite where a white tipi stands, a symbol of nomadism and return to nature. The eye is immediately drawn to a small yellow kiosk, decorated with a rainbow and messages advocating peace and love. A child stands behind this makeshift counter, still under a colorful roof where the word Magic is displayed.
The image is part of a sociological approach. It explores the margins of society and contemporary utopias. The composition balances the verticality of the tipi and the horizontality of the stand, anchoring the scene in a natural and raw landscape. The harsh sunlight highlights the textures of the earth and the naive colors of the furniture.
Shot in 2007, this photograph is offered in high-definition fine art print format. It testifies to a road aesthetic, attentive to the details of daily life and underground cultures. The wide framing leaves room for the serene atmosphere of this timeless place, marked by simple and authentic visual elements.
Presentation
Bze has been tagging since he was 12. He writes on his school table, his clothes, the walls and public transport in his environment.
In parallel with university studies in photography and cinema, Bze explored the underground corners of Europe with his film camera, hunting for the aesthetics of the road, the street, the margins and its people. Since 1999, through exhibitions and slideshows between Granada and Rotterdam, he has shared his thousands of slides. In 2006, Bze finalized his photographic journey with a book called Overground, confusing travelers published by Éditions Alternatives. A unique, almost sociological look, revealed by a selection of more than 600 photographs of the counterculture with its communities, demonstrations, squats, free parties...
Following his meeting with the artist Nef, they created the Nef&bze© graphic studio (focused on electronic music).
Returning to his roots, the aesthetics of the letter, Bze devotes himself in the studio to painting on canvas or paper. His contemporary calligraphy, Neo-writer, tends towards minimal abstractionism.
An artistic journey marked by diversity and authenticity, a thirst to share.
