Morne à l'Eau - Guadeloupe
This photograph presents a building in Guadeloupe whose facade is organized around a remarkable game of cloisters, shutters, and balconies. The repetition of geometric patterns forms a regular weave, interrupted by openings and railings that reveal the depth of the building.
The low-angle framing accentuates the verticality of the construction and gives particular importance to its angle, around which the two facades are articulated. The sky, very present, becomes an essential element of the composition.
With my photographic writing Sublimations, I am committed to revealing the plastic qualities of this architecture. The intense yellow of the facades stands out against a deep blue sky, while the shutters, balconies, and cloisters vary in chromatic variations that highlight the richness of the details.
The photograph highlights an architecture adapted to the tropical climate, where ventilation and sun protection devices fully participate in the aesthetic identity of the building.
Between geometric rigor, the depth of the openings, and the intensity of the color, this work invites one to consider everyday architecture as a true plastic composition.

Color silver print on Fujiflex Crystal Archive paper mounted on Dibond with matte edges.
