A road descends between the houses and the tropical vegetation, gradually opening the view to the Caribbean sea and, on the horizon, the silhouette of the Saintes.

The composition is organized around several planes: the road and its vanishing lines, the Creole roofs, the palm trees that rhythmically organize the image vertically, then the marine expanse and the island reliefs. Architecture and landscape respond to each other in a perspective that connects the inhabited space to the immensity of the territory.

With my photographic writing Sublimations, color and light become the materials of a personal interpretation of this Guadeloupean landscape. The intense red of the road, the luminous yellows of the roofs, the turquoise of the sea, and the pink hues of the sky construct a composition where every element asserts its presence.

The photograph thus explores the relationships between the natural landscape and human constructions. The perspective invites the gaze to cross through these spaces successively, up to the Saintes, whose dark silhouette constitutes the endpoint of the composition.

Color silver gelatin print on Fujiflex Crystal Archive paper mounted on Dibond with matte edges.
