Description

This composition explores the tension between order and spontaneity. Golden ochre strokes cut across a muted cream background. Each mark follows a diagonal rhythm. The lines vary in length and thickness. Some appear sharp and decisive. Others soften into the textured paper. This repetitive movement creates a subtle sense of falling or rain. The minimalist palette emphasizes the purity of the gesture. Negative space plays a vital role in the balance. It allows the eye to breathe between the rhythmic intervals. The artwork captures a moment of controlled energy. It bridges the gap between abstraction and calligraphy. There is a meditative quality to the repetition. The slight irregularities suggest a human hand. They contrast with the overall geometric direction. The soft tonal contrast evokes a timeless atmosphere. Each stroke acts as a visual beat in a silent melody. The piece relies on the interplay of light and pigment. It directs the gaze from the top left toward the bottom right. The subtle texture of the print adds tactile depth to the surface.

Presentation

Argimon (Sarriá 1929 - Barcelona 1996) is one of the great Catalan informalist artists. This painter, engraver and sculptor touched much of the 20th century art from paintings, collages, engravings and lithographs to cinema or sculpture. In the sixties he used materials gnawed by the use or the passage of time and began to create collages with cartons, papers, photographs, fabrics, etc. Later he worked other types of subjects.

Informalism and a taste for matter and color are its distinctive features.
