Konstantin Kornakov has reimagined Tarot cards by incorporating his unique aesthetic, characterized by the use of characters from his series "The Sub-Cones." This project merges the traditional imagery of Tarot with contemporary and urban elements, creating a distinctive visual language.
The Fool
The Fool is a card of freedom, spontaneity, and journey.
Depicted as a wandering traveler carrying a small bundle, often accompanied by an animal, he embodies the beginning of the tarot's journey — innocence, openness, and trust in life.
Unlike the other Major Arcana, The Fool has no fixed number, symbolizing his freedom from rules and conventions.
Symbolism: Freedom, adventure, folly.
The Fool represents the start of a new journey, the unknown, and the spontaneity of existence.
Interpretation:
This card encourages taking risks, exploring new paths, and embracing the unknown without fear. It speaks of joy, curiosity, and openness to life's surprises.
Reversed, it can suggest recklessness or hesitation to move forward.
Presentation
Painter and designer, Konstantin Kornakov is also a photographer. His images have the particularity that even if he photographs elements he sees and finds in the street, they represent neither people, nor objects, nor real landscapes.
He uses his device less as a means of recording reality than as an instrument of vision. Because what he photographs are visions first of all. He need indeed have had some kind of visual revelation to be able, then, to press the shutter.
His motives are fragments of urban landscapes, non-identifiable corners with no importance for "where", but with its plastic quality, the visual event, the fact of appearance of an element of beauty in the cacophony of the world.
