Description
The blue gaze pierces the thickness of a raw material. This portrait captures the strength of a face marked by time and the elements. Each wrinkle draws a path. The gray beard, treated with precision, brings a striking relief to the composition.
The contrast between the deep blue of the background and the flesh tones creates an immediate visual tension. Fragments of texts intertwine with the image, suggesting a fragmented narrative, a memory that fades.
The artist uses a textured, almost mineral support, which reinforces the authentic aspect of the subject. The dark cap frames a face whose expression oscillates between resilience and melancholy.
This piece plays on the superposition of layers. The vertical streaks and areas of peeling add an urban and contemporary dimension to the portrait. The whole rests on a dark base that stabilizes the composition. The anatomical details, particularly the texture of the skin and the shine of the irises, emphasize rigorous technical mastery.
Presentation
Self-taught, Maxime Andriot painted from a young age. He began to paint landscapes of his region first and had his first exhibition at the age of 16. Subsequently, he will experiment with different techniques, oil, acrylic, pastel, aerosol and different media. He has many inspirational subjects such as portraiture and cityscape, but his favorite subject remains the cartoons of his childhood to which he likes to give bright and electric colors.
