Description
This bronze sculpture captures the essence of a deep serenity. The face with fine features fades into an absolute calm. The closed eyes invite introspection. The gaze naturally turns towards the top of the composition. A voluminous turban crowns the head. Its turquoise patina contrasts with the dark tone of the metal. The work of the material imitates the suppleness of the textile. The folds of the fabric bring an organic rhythm to the whole.
The stature is upright and noble. The bust flows with simplicity to support the expression of the face. The light glides over the polished surfaces. It highlights the anatomical precision of the neck and shoulders. This piece combines force and delicacy. It plays on the opposition between the density of the bronze and the suggested lightness of the veil. The final rendering offers a visual balance between earth and sky. The refined finish accentuates the realism of the volumes. The object rests on a clean base.
Presentation
Ron Zohar is a multinational sculptor who has been based in Madrid, Spain since 2006. Her artistic work primarily involves terra-cotta, fiberglass, and bronze sculptures, as well as photography. Art became a significant part of her life around the age of 15, marking a pivotal moment where she felt a deeper connection to the world around her.
Zohar's artwork often delves into the complex relationships between humans and animals, exploring the human desire to distinguish itself from what is considered "savage." Another recurring theme in her work is the concept of the formation of life and motherhood, serving as an allegory for artistic creation.
Zohar seeks to inspire a neo-feminist vision and advocates for a high-resonance matriarchal world through her art. She views art as an essential and inherent part of human existence. Having graduated in multidisciplinary arts from Tel-Aviv University, she has devoted herself to various facets of the artistic world.
Her work has been exhibited in numerous prestigious cities, including Paris, Zurich, Monaco, and London, among others. Zohar has been recognized with several awards and nominations, and she was recently nominated for the prestigious Spanish Reina Sofia Prize at "Casa de Vacas" in Madrid.
