Opere Street Art

L'arte urbana si è affermata come uno dei movimenti più dinamici dell'arte contemporanea, nata nelle strade delle grandi città prima di conquistare gallerie e istituzioni di tutto il mondo.

Emersa a New York alla fine degli anni '60, alimentata dalla cultura hip-hop e dalla prima generazione di writer che occuparono muri e vagoni della metropolitana, ha sviluppato un linguaggio visivo basato su tag, graffiti e stencil, governato da rigidi codici di stile e dal riconoscimento tra pari.

Figure come Jean-Michel Basquiat e Keith Haring, a partire dagli anni '80, hanno facilitato il passaggio dalla strada al mercato dell'arte, aprendo la strada a una graduale legittimazione che sarebbe culminata con il fenomeno Banksy e l'emergere di una scena globale con espressioni diverse come collage, mosaici e interventi trompe-l'Å“il.

Lungi dal perdere la sua energia ribelle, l'arte urbana conserva una capacità critica e una vitalità formale che continuano a distinguerla nel panorama artistico contemporaneo.
