Artistas Alemanes
En el siglo XIX, el movimiento Jugendstil, el equivalente al Art Nouveau, hizo una importante contribución al diseño y las artes aplicadas en Alemania. Ilustrada por el artista Franz von Stuck, esta mezcla de fantasía y chic se expresaba en particular a través de las artes gráficas y la arquitectura interior. Desde principios del siglo XX, aunque salpicado por la guerra y las crisis políticas y sociales, Alemania vio surgir a muchos artistas. De hecho, los arquitectos Fritz Höger y Hans Poelzig consolidaron el expresionismo. Entonces Walter Gropius fundó la Escuela de Artes y Oficios Bauhaus en Weimar. Además de la arquitectura, la pintura también dejó su huella en el país a través de diversas corrientes iniciadas por artistas de renombre. El Neue Gruppe surrealista, por ejemplo, se fundó en Múnich en 1947 bajo la dirección de Rudolf Schlichter. También cabe destacar a Peter Nagel, una de las principales figuras del Grupo Zebra, fundado en Hamburgo en 1965. O Georg Baselitz, mentor del neoexpresionismo, que goza de fama internacional desde mediados de los años 60. La década de 1970 vio la aparición de nuevos géneros procedentes de Estados Unidos: la pintura de campo de color y la pintura de bordes duros, experimentadas en particular por Axel Dick y Reimer Jochims. Posteriormente, artistas como Jörg Immendorff, Anselm Kiefer y Rainer Fetting cuestionaron directamente en sus obras los problemas políticos y sociales de la Alemania de los años 80 y 90. ¿Su filosofía?
