Description
A flowing mixed-media composition combines painted canvas, natural wood, crystals, and cascading ivory macrame. Turquoise, bronze, cream, and earthy pigments create an abstract waterfall across the narrow surface, while long cotton strands continue its movement beyond the painted area.
The curved canvas edges give the work gentle sculptural volume, and the wooden ring at the top integrates the hanging structure into the artwork itself. Knotted fiber, pearl thread, reflective details, and layered pigments create a tactile play between softness, texture, and light.
The artwork belongs to the artist's Meditation series. Its elongated downward rhythm and water-inspired movement create a calm, contemplative presence, while the combination of fiber and painted surface turns the waterfall into both image and physical experience.
Its slim vertical format makes it particularly practical for a niche, hallway, bedside area, or meditation space. The work can also make a distinctive gift for someone drawn to fiber art, natural materials, handcrafted objects, and contemporary art centered on serenity and renewal.
Materials: Mixed media on canvas with acrylic and pigments, cotton macrame, pearl thread, crystals, and wood.
Shipping / Display: Ready to hang. The artwork is shipped in a protective box.
Presentation
Evgenia Rod is a contemporary artist. Trained in decorative and applied arts at the M. I. Isakovsky Institute of Arts, she has worked across painting, illustration, icon painting, textile, and design. In 2026, her work was presented in exhibitions in Russia, Belarus, and China, including Haikou CICPE 2026, Collegium in Orsha, Ars.VISIO Autumn Blues in Moscow, and The Element of Painting and Form in St. Petersburg. She joined the Union of Russian Artists in 2026.
Evgenia Rod combines painting, texture, embroidery, and collage to explore choice, self-regulation, contemplation, and the relationship between inner states and the external world. Her practice draws on Russian cultural traditions, symbolic systems, meditation, and other bodies of knowledge, translating them into a personal contemporary language rather than illustrating them literally.
Her compositions operate between intellectual and sensory perception. Symbols invite interpretation, while restricted color, rhythm, and tactile surfaces address the body and emotions. Orange and blue recur as a central contrast, marking shifts between calm and joy, reflection and action, tension and balance.
In series such as Choice and Meditation, Rod treats art as a space for conscious attention. Abstract forms and material surfaces become tools for navigating anxiety and information overload, while leaving viewers free to find their own meanings and inner points of balance.
