Description
Spring Mimosa
from the Inner Landscapes series
Abstract landscape painting
This work is a visual sensation of spring — a moment when space fills with light and air. Rather than depicting a specific place, the painting unfolds as an inner, abstract landscape, connected to memories of spring in Italy. It reflects a state of awakening, lightness, and quiet joy, translated into color and movement.
Juicy, broken brushstrokes of bright yellow and lemon tones spread across the canvas, evoking the flowering of mimosa — fragile yet persistent. These vivid accents of color create strong associations with spring, sunlight, and renewal, bringing a sense of warmth and fresh energy into the composition. The calm, ochre color palette of the background grounds the painting, maintaining balance and serenity while allowing the bright, saturated yellow to remain luminous without overwhelming the viewer.
The painterly language draws on a gestural, intuitive approach characteristic of contemporary abstract landscape painting. Here, movement, rhythm, and the physical sensation of the painting process take precedence over defined forms. The surface remains open and breathing, inviting pause, contemplation, and personal interpretation.
Spring Mimosa is a calm and atmospheric work about inner blossoming and transition — the subtle shift from winter stillness to life. With its abstract landscape structure, ochre tones, and vivid yellow accents, the painting brings a feeling of light, warmth, and gentle vitality. It integrates seamlessly into modern and contemporary interiors, functioning as a visual anchor for calm, balance, and renewal.
