Description
Hand-painted original artwork — no stencil or screen-print.
The new 2026 interpretation of captures the essence of freedom in a powerful and emotionally charged composition. It carries the unfiltered spirit of youthful liberation, infused with the raw energy, optimism, and unmistakable atmosphere of the 1980s — a feeling strongly associated with the iconic film and the unforgettable Sophie Marceau.
At the heart of the composition, a young woman stands with unwavering confidence, embodying self-determination, independence, and the limitless possibilities of being truly free. Her presence radiates strength and a deep connection to herself. The title captures this beautiful duality: freedom within freedom, an inner force that continues to evolve and cannot be confined.
Vivid blue palm trees in the foreground add a striking sense of openness and boundlessness. Their intense color becomes both a visual accent and a symbol of distant horizons, possibility, and the organic flow of life. Together with the expressive urban background, they create a fascinating tension between natural freedom and the energy of the city.
The textured canvas and its many layered elements give the work a distinctive depth. Bold brushstrokes, expressive marks, fragments, and fluid transitions merge reality with a dreamlike quality, creating a visual world that reveals something new with every glance.
Tizlu's characteristic combination of contemporary street art, nostalgic imagery, and expressive painting transforms the memory of a particular era into something timeless. The 1980s are not simply remembered here — they are reimagined through a contemporary artistic language.
Measuring 80 × 80 cm, the square format gives a strong and harmonious presence. It allows the central figure, vivid colors, and layered textures to interact with one another while making the artwork an expressive statement for both private and contemporary interior spaces.
More than a portrait of youthful freedom, is an invitation to embrace independence, question limitations, and follow your own path.
A celebration of freedom — outside us, within us, and always evolving.
Presentation
tizlu aka Tiziano Lucchese is an internationally known ultra-contemporary artist. He studied Art and Technology in the Netherlands and lives in Germany. His works as a multi-talented artist have been featured on television and showcased at prestigious international festivals. In addition to his work in the fine arts, tizlu worked as a director for commercials and fictional movies and editor for prime-time shows on major TV networks. His art is part of renowned fairs and private collections across the globe; from New York to Paris, from Australia to Canada.
tizlu's paintings appear as they were directly cut out of a living streetscape—where everything is possible, and nothing is mainstream. His artwork is the result of a refined blend of materials and techniques. He uses plaster, paper, and acrylic paint to create textures that evoke the appearance of weathered walls. On this foundation, he paints his unique motifs, layers drawings, messages, self-made stickers creating an art piece which becomes an urban patchwork reflecting the raw, spontaneous character of the streets and today's society.
