ABOUT THE ARTWORK

Destiny bridge is a unique abstract painting by Samia Kerkeni that explores passage, transformation and the meeting of contrasting emotional landscapes.

The square composition brings together two distinct chromatic territories. In the upper section, turquoise and blue move through deep black and metallic-gold passages, suggesting flowing water, mineral formations and submerged light. Below, a vivid field of crimson, rose, burgundy and white introduces a warmer, more expressive rhythm.

A horizontal golden transition marks the encounter between these worlds. More than a dividing line, it acts as a visual connection: a bridge through which contrasting colours and movements become part of a single composition. This passage gives the painting both its structure and its title.

The work's expressive strength emerges from the relationship between fluidity and compositional balance. Vertical flows lead the eye across the surface, while layered pigments create shifting densities, delicate transitions and areas of pronounced contrast. Dark passages give depth to the brighter colours, allowing turquoise, white and gold to stand out with particular intensity.

At a distance, presents a bold, balanced arrangement of colour. Closer viewing reveals the interactions of the fluid materials: passages where pigments merge, separate and settle into intricate patterns. These details encourage a slower reading of the painting, beyond its immediate visual impact.

The composition remains open to interpretation. It may evoke a landscape in transformation, a meeting of elemental forces or a passage between different states of mind. Its title invites a personal reading of the bridge as a symbol of connection, change and possibility.

TECHNIQUE AND CREATIVE PROCESS

Using mixed media and pouring techniques on canvas, Samia Kerkeni combines intentional composition with the natural movement of fluid materials.

The process involves directing colour while allowing the pigments to interact across the surface. Flow, density and layering contribute to the painting's individual character, creating transitions that cannot be reproduced identically.

In Destiny bridge, this dialogue between control and spontaneity is central to the work. The composition has a clear visual structure, yet its internal movements retain the freedom and unpredictability of flowing matter.

This is an entirely handmade original painting, not a print or a reproduction. It exists as a single artwork.

THE INSCRIPTION ON THE REVERSE

A handwritten message on the reverse adds an intimate dimension to the painting:

The inscription connects the title to a reflection on belief, becoming and the future. It offers another way to approach the work while leaving viewers free to discover their own meaning within its colours and movement.

Together, the front signature and the handwritten reverse form part of the artwork's identity.
