Description
When Night Unfolds is a unique abstract painting created by Samia Kerkeni in 2020 using acrylic pouring and artistic pigments on canvas.
Deep black, burgundy and earthen-brown currents descend through the composition, interrupted by luminous white formations and flashes of emerald green, coral and muted violet. The pigments appear to open, separate and reconnect, creating a nocturnal landscape filled with concealed movement.
The title evokes the moment when darkness begins to reveal what it contains. Night is not represented as emptiness, but as a living space crossed by hidden currents, memory and transforming energy.
A powerful black axis structures the centre of the painting. Around it, white passages resemble reflected light, mist or mineral veins, while emerald-green details bring vitality and renewal to the darker palette.
Created through a controlled fluid-painting process, the work combines deliberate composition with the natural behaviour of liquid acrylic. Each cellular structure, layered contour and chromatic transition developed during the interaction of the pigments and cannot be reproduced identically.
The artwork may evoke underground rivers, geological strata, a forest after dark or an imagined interior landscape. Kerkeni leaves the interpretation open to the viewer.
A handwritten poetic inscription on the reverse refers to hidden rivers awakening within velvet depths.
Entirely handcrafted, When Night Unfolds is a unique and unreproducible original artwork. It is not a print or edition.
Signed on the front and fully documented on the reverse. Certificate of Authenticity and lifetime authenticity guarantee by Abstract Art Gallery included.
The canvas may be delivered flat between reinforced XPS panels or rolled in a protective tube. Worldwide insured DHL Express delivery with tracking.

Presentation
Born in 1980, Samia Kerkeni develops an artistic approach in which matter becomes an emotional language in its own right. Her universe is defined by a deep investigation into textures, fluid movements and the interactions between light and colour.
A doctor and researcher in her field, she brings to her artistic practice a spirit of permanent exploration. This singular sensitivity allows her to create abstract works where every relief, every nuance and every contrast contributes to a fully immersive visual experience.
Inspired by natural forces — oceans, invisible currents and the metamorphoses of matter — Samia Kerkeni composes works in which energy flows freely across the surface. Deep blues, luminous turquoises, brilliant whites and mineral accents create compositions that are at once powerful, elegant and timeless.
Each creation is born from a slow and masterful process — layer by layer, gesture by gesture — where technique meets emotion and texture becomes a true artistic signature. Every work is an invitation to contemplation, offering each viewer the freedom to discover their own story within it.
Her works are part of the international selection of Abstract Art Gallery, a gallery specialising in contemporary art and high-end textural creations.
"Matter is never still. It holds the memory of the gesture, the light and the emotion that brought it into being."
