Description
Urban art comes here on a rigid surface to recreate the aesthetic of an imaginary wall. The Franco-German duo explores the complexity of being through an iconoclastic style.
The gesture is fast. The layers accumulate. Paint and mixed techniques intertwine to evoke the traces of time and social tensions.
The dark background contrasts with flashes of white and red. Fragmented letters and cryptic signs emerge from the visual chaos. A sketched face timidly appears, a silent witness to a human tragedy.
This composition, created in 2010, reflects contemporary issues. It captures the raw energy of the streets of Berlin. The characteristic cursive signature of the duo is found in it.
The final rendering imitates the superposition of graffiti. The drips and rubs create an organic texture. The logo representing a walking dog completes this piece.
Presentation
KRM is a French-German artists duo who produces imaginary walls on wood and metal. Their concept and style of painting -- "Wall spirit" -- is an iconoclast and rebel art style, based on the human tragedy and the complexity of the being.
The work reflects contemporary issues and deals with socio-political topics. Each work is completed with the KRM logo, with an image of a walking dog. KRM is their signum.
Their work began on the walls in Berlin and the Leipzig Museum has acquired works by KRM. They are part of major collections in France and abroad. They are represented by different galleries in Switzerland, Belgium, Italy, Kuwait.
