Description
A rain of vertical lines structures this abstract composition. Blue dominates the canvas. It expresses itself in various shades, from deep turquoise to azure blue. Fine touches of white and gray come to illuminate the surface.
The oil work reveals itself here as tactile. The painter uses the knife to create marked reliefs. This technique brings a physical dimension to the whole. The contrast between the thick material and the more fluid passages paces the reading.
The whole evokes an aquatic landscape or immaterial architecture. Some orange flashes pierce the cold dominance. These spots of color attract the eye and create a visual balance.
The approach favors impression and atmosphere. The composition invites escape and leaves room for interpretation. Each vertical stroke guides the eye upwards. The light seems to filter through curtains of rain or sea reflections. This creation from 2024 plays with verticality to establish a sense of serenity.
Presentation
The artist has always lived at the edge of the water, on the Atlantic coast, as close as possible to these seascapes that he loves passionately and of which he strives, canvas after canvas, as a sensitive and privileged witness, to restore light, poetry and serenity.
Colorist, he works his semi-abstract seascapes with oil, brush and knife, playing on the contrast between the motif worked in full paste and the soft background, thus offering each of his works a very dynamic contemporary.
Favoring the impression, the atmosphere and the atmosphere, it gives free rein to the imagination of those who contemplate them.
His paintings are an ode to travel, dreams and escape.
