Description
Iconic motel signs of the United States. Many of these signs are found on the mythical Route 66 crossing the country. These motel or diner signs flourished along the roads since the 1950s and bear witness to the American dream found in films: freedom, road trips…
Pappay likes to dwell on the details of our lives, on architectural elements, witnesses to a teeming humanity and a certain freedom. Work created on canvas with spray paint and acrylic markers. Flashy colors ideal for contemporary decoration.
Presentation
Born in 1985, Pappay is a French painter and sculptor whose works are exhibited internationally in Germany, Austria, United States, Singapore and more.
Coming from the School of Fine Arts, Pappay settled in 2008 in the South of France and began several years of creative research and experimentation. The result is a unique graphic touch with a very urban style.
Pappay draws inspiration from the chaos of cities and their architecture, as well as from graphic design and street art. Pappay has always been fascinated by the relationship between humanity and its environment. The scenes represented in Pappay's compositions are devoid of any human presence, where time is suspended, objects and buildings are witnesses of life and history ready to come alive before our eyes.
Deeply rooted in urban art, Pappay shines in the street art scene by regularly creating frescoes.
