Description
The architecture becomes a game of lines and contrasts here. The composition relies on rigorous geometry to structure the space.
The eye follows the repetitive curve of the concrete arches stretching towards the horizon. This repetition creates an almost hypnotic visual rhythm.
The deep black of the asphalt opposes the clarity of the sky and the grey texture of the ground. The absence of a human figure reinforces the feeling of calm and serenity.
Only a small blue signal comes to break the chromatic monotony of the foreground. This detail draws attention and emphasizes the precision of the framing.
The work on light and shadows transforms a utilitarian place into a minimalist graphic study.
The image is produced in the form of an HD print dating from 2020.
Presentation
Jean-Louis Corpron lives and works in Billière, near Pau (south of France).
Artistic approach. Impressionism, graphic design, and minimalism are at the heart of his approach, which aims to translate as faithfully as possible the emotion felt towards a subject. He explores the architecture and the plays of shadow and light with geometric precision. His streamlined compositions often show night scenes or serene interiors, like solitary lighthouses, where the human presence remains only suggested.
He received the Jury Prize in 2021 in Moliets-et-Maa (Landes).
