Description
The artwork here, "Hawaiian Sailing", is a wonderful depiction of a sloop racing swiftly in a gusting wind, that was created with acute detail, and vibrant color throughout, making it one of the nicest pieces by Neiman we have ever made available. Also, measuring approximately 30" x 40" and 40" x 50" with the high-quality, custom frame, the immaculate artwork is of impressive craftsmanship and size. Finally, it has remained in excellent condition since being published, is signed in the lower right corner, numbered 99 of 300, and comes with a Gallery Letter of Authenticity.
Leroy Neiman's art has been exhibited in major museums, and can be found in some of the most prestigious public and private collections across the globe. Now, this authentic work can be part of yours as it will be professionally packaged to ship domestically or internationally. Therefore, please contact us if you have any questions and do not forget to submit your offer.
Every item comes with free custom framing. We have wood frames with gold, silver, black, or brown finishes to offer you. Please note that in order to preserve the quality of the artwork and condition of the frame, most items are framed at the time of purchase. Due to issues within the supply chain and delays with framing products availability, the frame you see pictured might not be currently available. If we do not hear from you regarding your framing options we will do our best to frame it in a similar style and color.
Presentation
Leroy Neiman is an American artist, born in 1921 and died in 2012. During the Second World War, Leroy Neiman was old enough to serve his country and joined the army until 1956. It was after his Military service that Leroy Neiman studied art. Leroy Neiman did a course at St-Paul School of Art to begin with, before joining the art institute of Chicago and teaching.
His art stands out through its sparkling and bright colors, his painting is expressionist and semi-abstract. In 1954, Leroy Neiman put his talent at the disposal of Playboy magazine and produced a number of creations. Neiman began a world tour in 1960 during which he soaked in sporty and entertaining images, which he came across.
Sports events became his favorite theme. He covered several international events such as the Olympic games, Super bowl or the Wimbledon. Leroy Neiman was also fascinated by the nocturnal life and depicted the universe of casinos and the jazzy atmospheres. He created several silkscreen paintings and they became famous.
Today, the artist's work is presented in museums around the world, from hermitage in Russia and the Fine Arts Museum in Boston, not to mention the Brooklyn museum.
