Description
A serene presence settles in the space. This sculpture in black sandstone and Roussillon pigments captures a moment of deep contemplation. The chromatic contrast strikes the eye. An intense ultramarine blue envelops the body. This color saturates the garment and highlights the folds of the fabric.
The face, left in natural tones, exudes great softness. The precise modeling emphasizes the fineness of the features and the peaceful expression. The seated posture invites calm. The hands rest lightly on the knees.
The work of the material alternates between smooth areas and worked textures. Subtle geometric patterns appear on the blue drapery. The organic base anchors the figure in earthly simplicity. The balance between the strength of the pigment and the fragility of the black sandstone fired at 1200 degrees for 26 hours offers a constant visual dialogue. The light glides over the reliefs of the face and accentuates the depth of the gaze. Every technical detail serves the quest for serenity here.
