Description
This black granite sculpture captures a moment of absolute rest. A figure settles into it with disarming simplicity. The posture of the crossed legs evokes the serenity of oriental arts, particularly Japanese ones.
The chromatic contrast immediately draws the eye. The mineral gray of the body opposes the robe of a solar yellow made with Roussillon ochres. This choice emphasizes human fragility in the face of the brilliance of life.
The work of the material remains raw. The textures bring an organic dimension to the whole. The brown, massive, and sculpted base anchors the scene in a terrestrial reality.
The face expresses a silent fullness. Every fold of the garment is rendered with attentive precision. The figurative approach transforms a moment of daily life into a study of inner peace.
This piece combines technical rigor and sensitivity. It is part of a research into presence and balance. The melting of lines and the stability of the support create a visual harmony. The whole rests on a base of black granite with worked reliefs.
