Cédric Palobart, Palo, is a contemporary French painter whose artistic journey is deeply rooted in a resolutely contemporary approach, often navigating abstract realms of creative expression. From a very young age, Palo approached drawing and painting with an unquenchable passion, an insatiable hunger and sometimes an almost voracious appetite for creation. Freed from the rigid confines of a particular school of thought, Palo has retained a childlike curiosity that gives him the freedom to fearlessly wander wherever brushes and intuition draw him.
For Palo, painting transcends the realm of a simple hobby; this constitutes an imperative necessity. It becomes a powerful means of self-expression, allowing him to express his deepest self. His creative process does not revolve around representing what he sees or what he thinks; it's an exploration of what he feels. In this endeavor, Palo frees himself from superfluous thoughts and judgments, adopting an approach he describes as “pre-cognitive." It is a raw, intimate, almost psychoanalytic or meditative approach, always characterized by unfailing sincerity and frankness.
In his art, Palo explores themes that are deeply dear to his heart, such as consciousness, matter and vacuum, space and time, and entropy. He approaches these subjects instinctively, handling movement, color and material with a feeling of abandon. Palo fearlessly combines techniques and materials, constantly exploring to free himself from conventional rules, speculations or mental hesitations. This ceaseless quest is driven by the desire to delve into self-discovery and deliver one's unfiltered truth to the world – a quest that resembles the wisdom of Socrates in his quest to know oneself and perhaps, in return, to understand the world.
