Presentation
Berlin-based painter Shiori Nakano creates abstract paintings distinguished by delicate gold lines that capture the essence of color transitions and fluidity. Born in Japan in 1988, she is a self-taught artist whose works have been exhibited in international solo and group exhibitions.
Her artistic process involves a fusion of alcohol ink, metallic ink, and liquid alcohol on synthetic paper. Using unconventional tools such as hair dryers, airbrushes, and gravity, she employs techniques like flowing, pouring, and blowing the alcohol ink, her paintings have an elegance that simulates the sensation of wind in motion.
Borrowing from her experience as a professional belly dancer, she uses alcohol inks in her art to express her inner self like dancing on paper. Her creative inspiration stems from the depths of emotions and memories, enriched by inspiration from the traditional Japanese craft of kintsugi, and color schemes are influenced by the vibrant patterns of the Middle East and the nostalgic designs from Japan's Taisho Romantic period.
