"Overload" is a visual exploration of the daily struggles faced by independent workers, particularly creatives, as they navigate the demands of their craft and personal commitments. It reflects the sacrifices made to meet needs and passions, and the emotional and physical burdens that arise from a system that often limits or harasses. The work begins by depicting giant volumes, symbolizing both the weight of material and the emotional toll these tasks take. The piece challenges the viewer to question how something seemingly light or imaginative can become heavy and burdensome in its physical form but also in a sensitive way.
The work also addresses the cycle of consumption, examining the lifecycle of products—from design to waste—and the societal patterns tied to consumption, production, and packaging. It reflects on how consumer culture and the "power" of acquisition are intertwined with identity, where individuals are often seen as decorative symbols of status. Through this, the piece highlights the continuity of culture and history, encapsulated in both everyday objects and the techniques passed down through generations.
