Brenda Sabbagh was born on October 4, 1993, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She is a filmmaker graduated from the Universidad del Cine (FUC) and a visual artist. Throughout her training, she participated in various painting workshops, including those led by Dolores Casares, Carolina Antoniadis, Elias Slonim, Ivana Roitberg, and Sergio Bazán. Between 2020 and 2021, she attended a work clinic with Tulio De Sagastizábal.
In 2022, she was part of the Proyecto PAC and Cuatro x Cuatro programs, as well as the El instante abismal residency + laboratory at MANTA, directed by Suyai Otaño. That same year, she was awarded a grant from the Fondo Nacional de las Artes in the Individual Training category.
In 2023, she participated in the Pilotenkueche residency in Leipzig, Germany, and in Púrpura Proyecto. Her first solo exhibition, titled Un altar propio, was presented at Hijas del Arte. She was also part of group exhibitions such as Una obra en cada casa with Casa Equis gallery and Los fuegos nuevos at Casa de las Culturas de Tigre, alongside Lula Matisic, curated by Sergio Bazán. Additionally, she exhibited in Leipzig, Germany, and Madrid, Spain, in shows directed by María Lightowler, as well as at Gachi Prieto gallery in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
In 2024, she participated in the MAPA art fair with Casa Chaca in Buenos Aires, the Uncool Artist residency in New York, and the Obra Pública program at Fundación El Mirador. That same year, she presented her second solo exhibition, El color de las formas, curated by Ornella Costabile at Galería Gascón. She also took part in the group show Pop extremo at Roldán Subastas, curated by Laura Batkis.
In February 2025, she presented her solo exhibition Instants of Liquefying into Unison at the Argentine Consulate in New York, curated by Josefina Vilela. Currently, in 2025, she is participating in the Artistas x Artistas program at Fundación El Mirador.
Brenda Sabbagh's work explores the relationship between abstraction and figuration, integrating materiality, narrative, and gesture. Through various materials and supports, she seeks to disrupt preconfigured images and propose new forms of visual representation.
She lives and works in Buenos Aires Argentina.
