In their Château series, Misha & Nastasja Mishinsky explore the architectural memory of Provence, where stone and light are transformed into sensorial images. Château de la Gaude, one of the most emblematic wine estates near Aix-en-Provence, becomes here not only an architectural subject but a symbolic threshold—where history, viticulture, and contemporary culture converge.
Baroque rigor dissolves into vibrant brushstrokes, and the weight of stone is transfigured into luminous energy. Classical painting merges with expressive, almost impulsive gestures, accented by flashes of crimson and cobalt. The result is a language of “contemporary impressionism" that captures not stasis but the very breath of space. Through this, the Château Series reveals Provençal architecture not as monument, but as a living body where memory, culture, and painting pulse together.

Misha and Nastasja Mishinsky are professional artists based in the South of France, near Aix-en-Provence. Their collaborative practice exists at the intersection of classical painting and contemporary artistic language, uniting tradition and innovation in a dialogue between form, texture, and light.
Educated in the classical school of fine arts, the duo approaches painting as a shared act of creation — a fusion of two sensibilities, two gestures, two visions converging on a single canvas. Their subjects range from equestrian imagery to architectural landscapes and floral compositions, each series revealing an ongoing exploration of structure, emotion, and the luminosity of matter itself.
With more than 500 works created together, the Mishinskys' paintings are held in private collections across the world — from Los Angeles to Dubai — reflecting the universal resonance of their artistic voice. Their collaboration transcends authorship, transforming painting into a living dialogue between two artists, bound by a shared pursuit of harmony, movement, and light.
