"Pathway After the Rain" captures a quiet moment of calm following a gentle autumn shower. The wet road reflects soft light, creating a mirror-like path that leads the viewer deeper into the scene. Earthy browns, muted greys, and delicate touches of golden leaves evoke the scent of wet ground, fresh air, and distant memories.
The artist's loose yet intentional brushwork brings life to the details — the cracked walls, scattered leaves, and soft misty sky — all contributing to an atmosphere of nostalgia and serenity. This work beautifully expresses how ordinary places transform after rain, becoming softer, quieter, and full of poetic reflection.
A piece filled with mood, memory, and emotion — perfect for collectors who appreciate atmospheric landscapes and expressive realism.

Aramayis Khlghatyan, Pathway After the Rain
Armenia  • 1954

Presentation

My name is Aramayis Khlghatyan, born on May 5, 1954, in the town of Martuni, Gegharkunik region, Armenia.

I completed my secondary education at Martuni Secondary School No. 1 in 1971 and later served in the Soviet Army from 1973 to 1975. In 1975, I was admitted to the Panos Terlemezian College of Fine Arts in Yerevan, where I studied with distinction and graduated in 1979.

Upon returning to Martuni, I became one of the co-founders of the local School of Fine Arts, where I also began teaching. Throughout my years of teaching, I actively participated in both group and solo exhibitions, all the while deepening my practice in painting and sculpture.

In 2008, I became a member of the Artists' Union of Armenia.

In 2014, I initiated and participated in a sculpture symposium in Martuni. Among my notable works are "Jumping Cat" and "Ascension" — the latter a memorial dedicated to the fallen heroes of the Artsakh War.

In 2019, I held a personal exhibition at the Martuni Art Gallery, presenting a series of original compositions and plein air works.
In June 2023, I organized a solo painting exhibition titled "Homeland of the Soul", which was also exhibited in Goris in August of the same year.
In June 2024, I hosted a painting symposium, followed by plein air sessions in Lori, Artashat, and Mtnadzor during August 2024.

Now retired, I dedicate my time fully to painting — continuing to explore, create, and express through colour and form.
