Henrik Diamant: Painting Between Two Worlds
Swedish artist Henrik Diamant has been working from Málaga since 2016, where Mediterranean light ignited a new chapter in his abstract practice.
Born in 1964, Diamant grew up immersed in modern art through his family's collection. A formative encounter with Miró's work opened doors to playful abstraction—a vocabulary he has since made his own through architectural sensibility and rigorous technique.
Working with egg tempera over acrylic and gesso on linen, Diamant creates layered compositions that marry geometric precision with spontaneous forms. Drawing on mid-century color palettes transformed by Andalusian light, his work bridges structured composition and dreamlike spontaneity. Where Miró celebrated liberation from representation, Diamant explores the tension between control and chance, grounding his abstractions in material craft.
Since establishing his studio in the Mijas mountains, he exhibits regularly across the Costa del Sol, Sweden, and Norway. His work attracts interior designers and collectors from Andalusia to Scandinavia to California, who respond to his synthesis of traditional materials and modern visual language.
