Description
In , Ritchelly Oliveira places a young woman at the center of an abundant arrangement of flowers. Her direct gaze and carefully rendered features create a point of stillness within the densely layered botanical composition.
Working with charcoal and acrylic on canvas, Oliveira develops the image almost entirely through black, white and shades of gray. Fine details in the face — from the eyes and freckles to the subtle modeling of the skin — contrast with the more expressive treatment of the surrounding flowers, where visible strokes, smudges and overlapping marks remain part of the finished surface.
The title , meaning “seed" in Portuguese, introduces an association with growth and emergence. Surrounded and partially enveloped by flowers, the figure and the natural forms appear closely interconnected.

Presentation
Ritchelly Oliveira, visual artist, began his work in 2012, shortly after enrolling in visual arts at the Federal University of Goiás (UFG), he found in the human figure a space to present his speech about what he understands most profoundly present in affective relationships. He talks about what he suspects to be love and, believing it to be a universal feeling. It proposes what is common to men, even knowing that this love brings something that is also individual and particular.
Believing that affective relationships are built from the individual and how their surroundings interfere with them, we try to rescue here the possibility of constructing discourses about love, especially black love. The importance of reflecting together on issues such as sexuality, emotional responsibility and colorism are necessary canons in this invitation to embrace the dangerous and exclusionary ideals of romantic love that circulate in our environments.
