Description
From my childhood memories, I remember how we grew cassava and corn. During the farming season, one of our greatest worries was pests especially grasshoppers that would eat away the leaves. Yet, while the adults saw them as a threat to the crops, we children saw something entirely different. We loved chasing and playing with the grasshoppers, especially the big ones. This painting draws from that contrast between childhood innocence and the everyday realities of life.
