Description
The image captures a game of curves and striking contrasts. The eye moves between smooth surfaces and areas of deep shadow. The graphic composition plays on an immediate visual tension.
The cool blue of an organic structure is adjacent to a solar yellow. These hues oppose each other with precision. The tight framing transforms the subject into a geometric abstraction.
The technical execution relies on a high-definition print. This process ensures absolute sharpness of the contours. Each shade of color is rendered with rigorous fidelity.
The absence of traditional perspective reinforces the architectural aspect of the scene. The light glides over the volumes without revealing the entirety of the subject. The whole creates a balance between mystery and visual clarity.
This photograph dated 2020 explores the meeting between the concrete and the imaginary. It manifests through a precise dialogue between colored planes and a black void.
Presentation
Jean-Louis Corpron lives and works in Billière, near Pau (south of France).
Artistic approach. Impressionism, graphic design, and minimalism are at the heart of his approach, which aims to translate as faithfully as possible the emotion felt towards a subject. He explores the architecture and the plays of shadow and light with geometric precision. His streamlined compositions often show night scenes or serene interiors, like solitary lighthouses, where the human presence remains only suggested.
He received the Jury Prize in 2021 in Moliets-et-Maa (Landes).
