Description
This is an original circular abstract painting exploring the invisible connections that develop between people.
What interests me about relationships is how much can happen without words. We influence one another through gestures, shared experiences, distance, attention and sometimes simply through being present.
In this painting, two formations seem to move through the same landscape, responding to each other while retaining their own shape. Between them, a soft golden light appears, surrounded by silvery greys and darker mineral tones. The forms suggest currents, weathered mountains or drifting clouds, but I wanted to leave their identity open.
The painting combines acrylic, mineral pigments and sand, creating a textured surface with subtle variations in light and depth. The circular format adds a sense of continuity, as though the movement could extend beyond the visible image.
For me, this abstract landscape speaks about the delicate balance between closeness and independence. Relationships do not require us to become the same. Perhaps their richness comes precisely from the ways we remain different while continuing to affect one another.
Medium: Acrylic, mineral pigments and sand on stretched canvas

Presentation
Francesca Borgo (b. 1970) is an Italian abstract painter whose practice investigates liminal thresholds — the spaces between erosion and emergence, stillness and movement, self and other. Working with layered combinations of acrylic, sand, and mineral pigments, she creates atmospheric surfaces that evoke glaciers, mist, sedimented terrains, and states of emotional transition.
Her work is informed by a background in cognitive neuroscience and psychology, grounding her visual language in an exploration of perception, authenticity, and the subtle ways we grow and open ourselves to others while remaining rooted in who we are. Her paintings function as meditative thresholds, inviting viewers into a slower encounter with presence.
Borgo has exhibited widely in the United Kingdom, the United States, and recently Asia. Her work was shown at the Royal Academy of Arts Summer Exhibition (London, 2022), and she has presented multiple solo booths at The Other Art Fair (Brooklyn, Los Angeles, London, Dallas). Additional presentations include the Affordable Art Fair New York, and the Incheon Art Show in South Korea.
Her works are held in private collections across Europe, North America, and Asia. She lives and works in Treviso, Italy.
