About the artwork
Artwork sold in perfect condition
Daniel Arsham was born in 1980 in USA and is a visual artist. Brought up in Miami, Florida, he studied at Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art in New York, he works and lives there today.
The artist's research is at crossroads with art, architecture and performance. Eroded walls, landscapes crowned with structures, Arsham plays around with forms, spaces and volumes, and highlights playfulness.
While working on his personal creations, the artist has had some unique collaborations with the choreographer, Merce Cunningham for whom he created a stage. Following this, the two artists performed together in USA, France and Australia. Other partnerships with choreographers followed along, mainly with Jonah Bokaer, due to whom Arsham participated at the Festival d'Avignon, among many others. In 2013, the artist collaborated with Pharrell Williams, for whom he recreated his first keyboard in volcanic ashes.
