Pantonio

Born in the Azores archipelago, on the island of Terceira in 1975, Pantonio has always been influenced by the Tagus River, which crosses Portugal. He uses his brush to create characters, fantastical animals, rabbits, fish, and turtles, always in motion. Sometimes we see rope-like lines that evoke fishing and the marine world so dear to Portuguese tradition. The deliberate use of four dominant colors, blue, black, white, and red, is reminiscent of the dark blue of the sea, the black of the ocean floor, and the volcanic red of the center of the Earth.
