>the sound of silence

From April, 13 to April, 28 2016

Christophe Lachize explores the uncharted territory between abstract and figurative painting. His landscapes are primarily undefined shapes, scratches and texture effects that make logical sense from the presence of a single tree in the composition.

Empty spaces with long monochromatic sequences express the secret and delicate soul of hidden things. The tree is the life that defines its universe and turns as magic abstraction into reality.

Christophe Lachize paints with acrylic and ink on wood panels which are polished and coated with wax. Using a subtle palette of whites and greys with soft textures, the artist invites us to share his secret world of calm and harmony.
