Tracey Emin – Nudes.Blue

Nuremberg From 29 January to 28 February 2015

Galerie Fluegel Roncak, with a strong focus on Contemporary Art and Pop Art, will show from January until end of February 2015 works of British artist Tracey Emin. On view will be different prints with female nudes from 2009 – 2014.

Emin was born 03.07.1963 in Croydon, London, UK. Like Damien Hirst she is part of the group known as Britartists or YBAs (Young British Artists). She lives and works in London.

1980–1982 studies of fashion at Medway College of Design
1984 studies of printing at Maidstone Art College
1987 studies at the Royal College of Art and MA in painting
1993 first solo show at the White Cube gallery, London

Emin uses all aspects of her life in her art, turning intimate autobiography into broader statements about sex, love, death, freedom and everyday life.Emin's art takes many different forms of expression including needlework and sculpture, drawing, printmaking, video and installation, photography and painting. Drawing and printmaking have remained key mediums for Emin, and over the last ten years she has produced a steady output of monotype prints directly from her drawings. Emin’s work is included in many of the world’s most prestigious public collections.

In 2014 Emin`s famous installation „My Bed“ was sold at Christie`s to German collector Count Duerckheim for 2,5 Mio Ponuds. Count Duerckheim confirmed a long-term loan of at least ten years to Tate Group and Emin is very happy about that. In 1999 she had installed the bed at Tate Gallery, London, for the first time, and now it will return: „I have always felt My Bed belongs at Tate.“, Emin writes on her website, „I cherish the moment to install it there.“ .
