Born in 1959 - Australia
Elizabeth Marks Nakamarra was born in Papunya in the late 50s. Promised in marriage to Old Mick Namarrari, she married him in 1980. She has several children from this marriage, two son and one daughter. In 1980, Mick was already a renowned artist and a highly respected figure in the West Central Desert.
It is also in the early 80s, after the new laws allowing aborigines to recover their ancestral lands, that Mick joined Kintore with all his family. Later on, he settled in Nyunmanu, a camp where several families lived, Turkey Tolson Tjupurrula and of course her husband, Mick, all influential members of the Pintupi ethnicity. Elizabeth painted among others, the Dreams of the Kangaroo and the Dreams of the Wild Turkey.
Elizabteh Marks Nakamarra has significant rights on lands situated at the east of Kintore including the famous site Kalipimpa, a water source associated with many dreams. Elizabeth continues to celebrate ancient rituals, thousands years old.
