Ngoia Pollard Napaltjarri

Ngoia born in the late 1940's, grew up in the territory of Haasts Bluff, belonging to a community of aboriginals located in the center of Australia. Previously married to Jack Tjampijinpa Pollard, Ngoia is an accomplished and renowned artist of the Australian artistic scene.

The artist is inspired by the land of her ancestors, the territory of Walpiri. Her work is a testimony of her interest in the wetlands of this region, represented by oval forms. In her paintings, each element or action is represented by a form; for example, where water evaporates she paints dots.

Ngoia is one of the most important aboriginal artist. Her work is exhibited in many private and public collections of which the National Gallery of Australia. In 2006, she won the Natsiaa Telstra prize.
