Madeleine Dixon Napangardi

Born in 1973 - Australia

Madeleine Dixon Napangardi is an aboriginal artist from Yuendumu in the central Australian desert and was born in 1973.

Her work is linked to the Jukurrpa dream, which is associated to a place called Mina Mina, west of Yuendumu in the Northern territories. The Jukurrpa dream is the tale of a group of women's journey to gather ngalyipi (snake vine- tinospora smilacina, a sacred plant for the women of Napangardi and Napanangka) in the east, during which they celebrated many traditional ceremonies.
